The Trip

The overview.

The Spring River is born from Mammoth Spring, one of the largest springs in the Ozarks, and it runs cold and clear every day of the year. That constant flow makes it a year-round trout fishery tucked into the Arkansas hills, with smallmouth bass mixed in where the water warms downstream.

We base out of riverside cabins walking distance from the access points, with two guides for a group of four. Expect a mix of wade-fishing riffles and deep bend pools, with the best action in the early morning and again in the last hour of light.

Day by Day

The itinerary.

Day 2 — Fri
On the water at first light. Wade the upper spring section. Lunch break, evening session on the lower bends.
Day 3 — Sat
Full day, floating the middle river in drift boats. Tying circle by the fire that night.
Day 4 — Sun
